How do I create an outstanding visual identity that reflects my ever-evolving nature as a designer and individual? This question challenged me throughout my final months at Oregon State University. I sought something simple, meaningful, and adaptable—something that truly resonated with who I am. To strike a balance between these ideas, I began by exploring visual representations of the words and phrases that best exemplify my personal identity.
Personal projects can be overwhelming, unlike client work with its clear direction. However, setting key criteria can prevent creative paralysis. For this project, defining "checkboxes" helped me focus, leading to a logo that met my goals.
This logo clearly represents my initials "JF" and the concept of design with a "D." It’s friendly, personable, and fits within a shield shape, providing a solid foundation for exploring the rest of my visual identity.
