To strike that balance, I began by exploring visual representations of the words and phrases that best exemplify my personal identity.

Personal projects can be overwhelming, unlike client work with its clear direction. Setting key criteria prevents creative paralysis — defining "checkboxes" helped me focus, leading to a logo that met my goals.

The mark represents my initials "JF" and the concept of design with a "D." It's friendly, personable, and sits within a shield shape — a solid foundation for the rest of the visual identity.
